Plan of the Villa

This part of the plan shows the central area of the complex consisting of the grand peristyle surrounding a long ornamental pond. The peristyle contained many fine statues in bronze and marble. Karl Weber's plan clearly shows the layout of the building along with the course of the tunnels dug by the excavators. The volcanic flow through the building was from east to west (right to left in the above plan).
