 | The entrance (A) on Cardo V opens onto the 'Corinthian Atrium' (B), a small peristyle and the only circulation space in the house. The peristyle consists of six tufa columns covered with red and white stucco, surmounted by Corinthian capitals. ..

To the right of the entrance is a cubiculum (D) with a fine geometric mosaic floor (pictured below left), while to the left is the kitchen area (E) with stairs leading to the upper floor. .. .. At the far right hand corner of the peristyle is a reasonably sized tablinum (C), pictured left. Like the rest of the house, the tablinum is decorated in the fourth style , in this instance with architectural features on a black ground. In all, four of the reception rooms have mosaic floors. | |
